Abbreviated intro: Moved to a new place, decided I wanted a dedicated dual boot Mac for:
- guests can use MacOS (defaults to MacOS)
- some web app testing on Kali (only accessible via Option key)
Quick tips for installation…
Kali install can be before or after refind. Not a huge deal!
I was getting .3 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up when I logged in the first time. Updating was a beast. I needed the broadcom WL drivers, as stated in this thread of the kali forum. A quick rundown of my steps…
# apt-get update && apt-get install linux-image-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') linux-headers-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') broadcom-sta-dkms # ifconfig wlan0 down # modprobe -r b44 b43 b43legacy ssb brcmsmac bcma # modprobe wl
I’m not sure the ifconfig is necessary above, but when messing with wireless drivers it’s worth checking.
That’s all I have right now, Hope it works for you!
